Court clears path for Ambuluwawa cable car project Featured

The BOI approved US $ 4.5 Million Amber Adventure and Ambuluwawa Bio Diversity Center’s first cable car operation in Sri Lanka has been given interim relief by the Court of Appeal to continue with the project .

It will be constructed with technical and product expertise from China Machine-Building International Corporation to provide Adventure-seeking local and foreign visitors to get scenic beauty and high elevation adrenalin rush 3500 feet above sea level cable car rides with a ropeway of approximately 1,621.5 metres..

The Court of Appeal on Wednesday 15 issued an interim order restraining the Divisional Secretary of Udapalatha, Gampola, from unduly interfering with or suspending the Cable Car Project in Ambuluwawa, which is being carried out by a private company.

The two-judge bench of the Court of Appeal, comprising Justices M.T. M. Lafar and P. Kumararatnam made this order pursuant to a writ petition filed by Amber Adventures (Private) Limited and this interim order will be effective till October 29.
