The approval was granted during the Cabinet meeting held on 2 September, with the exception of contracts for the Anuradhapura, Galle, and Deniyaya substations, which were later awarded following the rejection of appeals by unsuccessful bidders.
The Appeal Procurement Board rejected the appeals related to these three substations, clearing the way for the contracts to be awarded based on the recommendations of the Negotiation Consensus Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers.
In the Anuradhapura Grid Substation, contracts were awarded for the development of 10 MW of renewable energy capacity.
