Shopping for fruit and veg in Colombo is rarely a pleasure. You're either fumbling through unopenable plastic bags at Keells or side-stepping dried puddles of crow poo at the market. The thing about vegetable shopping here is that you'll never find everything you want within a single venue. And as for enjoying the experience, well, that's unlikely. We were excited to learn that Anything.lk offered online vegetable delivery. It sounded quite excellent - you could buy all your fruit and veg without having to leave your house and the selection actually seemed broader than most local supermarkets. And they promised to deliver within two days. Seemed promising - but then this is Colombo, and even ordering something as simple as pizza could go colossally wrong. So with many cold pizzas in mind, I adjusted my expectations and proceeded with caution.
