Ritigala is an ancient Buddhist monastery and mountain in Sri Lanka. The ruins and rock inscriptions of the monastery date back to 1st century BCE. It is located 43 km away from the ancient monastic city of Anuradhapura
This reserve can be reached from Colombo on the following route.
Colombo – Warakapola – turn to the left on to Kurunegala road – Kurunegala – Dambulla – Habarana – turn left to the Anuradhapura road – drive about 20 km and look for a road to the left with the name board to reach beginning of the foot path.
