Warmly welcome you to the web site of the National Programme for TB Control & Chest Diseases.
National Programme for TB Control & Chest Diseases (NPTCCD) is the central organization of the Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition responsible for controlling and preventing TB throughout Sri Lanka. Fortunately, Sri Lanka is not among the high-burden countries. However, TB remains as a serious Public Health problem and poses a continuing threat to the health and social life of the people In this context, every one in the society has a role to play to minimize the TB burden.
The campaign aims to enhance the awareness on TB and its health impacts to the individual, family, society and to the nation. Since It is a health issue that affects the entire community, the commitment of every citizen in the community is vital for the control this disease. I would urge each one to spread the message that TB is curable – let our voices, and our efforts, reach every TB patient and every responsible person in our society.
The NPTCCD web site helps you to understand essential information on TB, its burden to Sri Lankan society, anti TB activities, our services and future programs etc.
I do appreciate the web team in the Ministry of Health for their commitment in updating the information on global and national events related with TB.
I kindly expect your comments and suggestions to develop the web site further.
