With Starbucks Coffee’s first venture in Sri Lanka is a popular hangout place for both young and old alike. There’s a wide range of both food and drink available from relaxing teas to awakening coffees. ENVIRONMENT The Lounge has a pleasant environment with its dark brown wood theme. The Sofa’s are comfortable, tha ambient lighting and décor makes the lounge a very nice to be. SERVICE Service is decent, the staff are friendly and fast and speak good English. FOOD This is where the Java Lounge hits its lowest point. As a STARBUCKS outlet you’d expect its coffee to be the star of the show. Sadly this isn’t the case. The coffee is not up to standard with other more popular coffee lounges such as Coffee Bean and Baristas. This maybe Starbucks coffee but the preparation clearly isn’t being done to any real standard. However with Starbucks coffee you can’t go wrong with a freshly brewed coffee. VALUE FOR MONEY The Coffees are well priced for Starbucks. Around the same as they are elsewhere in the world. A cup of Hot Freshly Brewed Starbucks Coffee is just Rs.270 . OVERALL It’s good coffee at a good price, but stay away from the more complicated coffee drinks- the preparation needs to be improved.
