Message from Consul:

Think global and act local that is the role of Honorary Consul in the globally challenging and changing times, as economies and communities integrate to become closer. Honorary Consuls are now playing a vital role in a transforming diplomatic world. Consular diplomacy is taking an ever increasing importance in the globalized world and economy. It is the diplomacy conducted by Consulates and Consular representatives, focused traditionally on classical activities of wellbeing functions of the people of the respective representing countries.
In Sri Lanka, we have been allocated limited functions and we attend to all inquiries and assistance of the people who approach us for help.
In addition to that we play an equal role as an embassy coordinating bilateral relations among the two countries and promoting businesses, Cultural affairs and guidance to Czech nationals.
Since 2015, we have been playing an active role and witnessed by high caliber visits to and from Sri Lanka and to Czech Republic. These visits were very productive and both governments were able to conclude the Economic corporation agreement and finalizing the double taxation agreement too.
